Sixty is the new forty.  Ageing smartly in a super-ageing society

No region will be more affected by population ageing than Asia.  While Japan has the highest percentage of senior citizens in the world, counties like China, Singapore and Korea are catching up fast.  Asia expects to be home to over 60% of the world’s 65 year plus age group by 2030.  While this dramatic shift in the region’s demographic makeup poses challenges, there is a silver lining for business, with opportunities for new product development as a new market emerges.  This presentation examines the concerns of the new ‘silver generation’ and translates insights from a recent consumer survey into ideas for the smart development of innovative new food concepts.

  • Global trends in the ageing population – what Asia can expect
  • Consumer insights – identifying their so far unmet needs
  • A better life – prolonging healthy life expectancy with new products
  • Business opportunities – DuPont’s take on new business opportunities
